About this Future Project

The Power & Light District is a nine-block, dynamic district in downtown Kansas City, the central business district of Kansas City, Missouri. It is located between Baltimore Avenue to the west, Grand Boulevard to the east, 12th Street to the north, and Interstate 670 to the south. Surrounded by entertainment places and landmarks like Sprint Center, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Grand Ball Room, the Crossroads Arts Districts, the $850 million P&L District, one of the largest development projects in the midwestern United States, features a variety of local and regional restaurants, stores, entertainment venues, nightlife and lifestyle amenities. It is the recipient of 2009 “Urban Land Institute Award of Excellence” for its impact on the revitalization of downtown Kansas City.
